A preliminary investigation showed the girl was involved in a minor traffic crash in Beach Park. The man tried to intervene after the crash and was forced to jump onto the hood to avoid being hit by the girl's car, the sheriff's office said.
CPD officer run over, man charged with attempted murder
The man is accused of putting a car in reverse and running over a 39-year-old CPD officer who was approaching on foot Friday night, police said.
Four victims struck by gunfire in South Shore restaurant shooting

21-year-old in critical condition after South Loop robbery
The victim was outside in the South Loop neighborhood around 6:00 a.m. Sunday when he was confronted by an unknown offender who demanded his property. It is unclear whether or not the victim refused to comply, but the offender started firing shots at him.
