CHICAGO - In the overnight hours, a 25-year-old male and a 41-year-old male were shot and killed in the Logan Square neighborhood, authorities said. This comes after a male of unknown age was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon blocks away in the same neighborhood.

Two others were also wounded in separate shooting incidents in Logan Square yesterday.

The first fatal incident we reported here yesterday.[1]

A male of unknown age was walking on the sidewalk in the 2100 block of N Central Park Avenue around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday afternoon when a dark colored vehicle pulled up and an unknown offender exited the vehicle, authorities said. The offender produced a firearm and fired shots at the victim, striking him in the head and the chest.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Later in the afternoon, around 3:40 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot on a sidewalk in the 3600 block of West Armitage Avenue, police said. An unknown offender(s) fired shots from a passing car, striking the 25-year-old man several times. The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition was stabilized.

In the early morning hours around 1:00 a.m., a different 25-year-old man was sitting at a bus stop in the 3900 block of W Fullerton Avenue when he got into an argument with an unknown man. The offender produced a firearm and shot the 25-year-old man in the chest, police said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

This same gunman then fled to the nearby 2300 block of North Keystone Avenue on the border of Logan Square and Hermosa. There he attempted to take a 41-year-old man’s car, police said. During a struggle in the carjacking, the gunman shot the 41-year-old man in the chest and fled in the victim’s vehicle.

The 41-year-old was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The victim has not been identified and there is no description of the vehicle available at this time.

None of the victims have been identified, in fact, and there are no suspects in custody.

Area Five detectives are investigating the early Thursday morning incident while Area Three detectives are investigating the incident from Wednesday afternoon.
