Woman found dead in alley in Uptown

The woman was reportedly found unresponsive around 6:30 a.m. the morning of July 7th on the 4500 block of N. Malden Street in the Uptown community area. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Woman found dead in alley in Uptown
An unidentified woman was found dead in an alley on the 4500 block of N. Malden Street in the Sheridan Park neighborhood on Thursday.

Update: The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has declared the woman's death a homicide.

CHICAGO - A woman was found dead in an alley yesterday morning in the Sheridan Park neighborhood, authorities said. Sheridan Park is part of the Uptown community area on the city's north side.

The woman was reportedly found unresponsive in an alley around 6:30 a.m. the morning of July 7th on the 4500 block of N. Malden Street in the Uptown community area. Officials arrived and she was pronounced dead on the scene.

The woman has yet to be identified and her age has not been reported. Detectives are conducting a death investigation while the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office continues to work on the woman's autopsy to determine her official cause of death.
