Two teens shot on Humboldt Park front porch

HUMBOLDT PARK, CHICAGO - Two teenagers were shot while out on the front porch of a Humboldt Park residence this afternoon, authorities said.

The incident happened around 4:18 p.m. this afternoon on the 2700 block of W. Potomac Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the city's northwest side.

Police said a 17-year-old female and a 15-year-old male were on the front porch of a residence on the above block when an unknown offender approached the pair. The offender then pulled out a gun and fired shots.

The 17-year-old girl was shot in the face but was taken to Mt. Sinai where she is listed in good condition. The 15-year-old boy was shot in the left foot and was taken to Stroger Hospital where he, too, is listed in good condition this evening.

Area Five Detectives are investigating.
