Three elderly people found shot to death in Morgan Park home

Police said they discovered three people, an 81-year-old woman, a 65-year-old woman, and a 61-year-old man shot to death in a home in the Morgan Park neighborhood on the city's south side.

Update: The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victims as Arterie Riley, 81, her daughter, Thomas Ann Riley, 65, and her son, Ruben Riley, 61.


CHICAGO - Three people were discovered shot to death inside a home in the Morgan Park neighborhood this afternoon, authorities said.



Police said they discovered three people dead around 5:00 p.m. in the 11300 block of S. Green Street in the Morgan Park neighborhood on the city's far south side. At the time of this report, Police did not provide the information that alerted them to investigate the home or the background on any incident that may have taken place.

The first victim discovered in the home was an 81-year-old woman who sustained a gunshot wound to the right side of the head.

The second victim was a 65-year-old woman who sustained a gunshot wound to the right torso.

The third victim was a 61-year-old male who also sustained a gunshot wound to the right torso.

All three of the victims were discovered dead and pronounced on arrival.

Detectives are currently investigating as a homicide.
