Man shot and killed while driving in Roseland, CTA bus also hit by gunfire

The 28-year-old man was pronounced dead and a CTA bus was reportedly also struck by gunfire, but there were no reported injuries to anyone who was on the bus at the time.

Man shot and killed while driving in Roseland, CTA bus also hit by gunfire

CHICAGO - A man was reportedly shot and killed yesterday afternoon while driving through Roseland with a CTA bus also caught in the crossfire.

There were no injuries to passengers on the bus.



The incident reportedly happened around 3:45 p.m. yesterday afternoon in the first block of E. 100th Place of the Roseland neighborhood near the intersection with Michigan Avenue.

A 28-year-old man was driving when he was struck by gunfire to his back and torso.

The victim drove himself to the area of 1000 block of W. 95th St where he was then picked up by paramedics and transported to Christ Hospital. He was later pronounced dead.

A CTA bus was reportedly also struck by gunfire but there were no reported injuries to anyone who was on the bus at the time.

There are no offenders in custody and Area Two detectives are investigating.
