Double Homicide in South Chicago neighborhood mid-Monday

CHICAGO - Two male victims were shot and killed just before noon while riding in a vehicle in the South Chicago neighborhood on Monday, police said.



Authorities said that approximately 11:52 a.m. on Monday, November 15, 2021, two male victims were riding in a vehicle in the 8700 block of S. Saginaw in the South Chicago neighborhood when they were shot.

Their vehicle then went off the road and crashed into a tree.

The men are both currently listed as John Doe's as they have yet to be identified.

The first victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

The second victim was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center where they were pronounced dead.

There is no offender information at this time.

Area Two Detectives are investigating.

The crashes occurred late in the morning and involved 40 to 60 passenger cars and multiple tractor-trailers, two of which caught fire, Illinois State Police Maj. Ryan Starrick said.
