  • We took the liberty[1] of removing suburbs like Lake Forest from this list due to their utterly absurd pricing.
  • While not as egregious as Lake Forest's behavior, we also removed suburbs such as Geneva, Gurnee, and Schaumburg because they tried to pass off fireworks shows presented by local baseball teams and Six Flags as their own. Tsk, tsk. Not a good look. It's just bad form.

All of the town's celebrations listed below are free admission. NOTE: Some are charging premium parking fees but none greater than $10.

`Multiple fatalities' on Illinois highway following crashes

The crashes occurred late in the morning and involved 40 to 60 passenger cars and multiple tractor-trailers, two of which caught fire, Illinois State Police Maj. Ryan Starrick said.
