Police said a 20-year-old female and a 22-year-old male were walking around midnight when they were approached by two men on foot who both pulled out pistols and began shooting.

Albany Park shooting overnight leaves man killed and woman injured

CHICAGO - A man was killed and a woman injured after they were shot while walking in the Albany Park neighborhood just after midnight, authorities said.

The incident happened just after midnight on the 4700 block of N. Kedzie near the intersection of W. Leland Avenue in the Albany Park neighborhood on the city's northwest side.

Police said a 20-year-old female and a 22-year-old male were walking down the above block when they were approached by two unidentified male offenders on foot. Both of the male offenders allegedly pulled out pistols and began shooting at the victims before they fled on foot.

The 22-year-old male victim was shot multiple times to the body and was taken to Illinois Masonic where he was pronounced dead. The 20-year-old female victim was struck once on the leg and was also taken to Illinois Masonic where she is listed in good condition this morning.

There is no one in custody and Area Five detectives are investigating.
