4 shot in Garfield Park, including 11-year-old boy

An 11-year-old boy, 31-year-old woman, 33-year-old man, and 48-year-old man were all struck by gunfire and listed in serious condition.

4 shot in Garfield Park, including 11-year-old boy

CHICAGO - Police are reporting that 4 people were shot tonight in the Garfield Park neighborhood and the victims include an 11-year-old boy.



The incident reportedly occurred around 8:15 p.m. in the 4100 block of W. Monroe in the Garfield Park neighborhood on the city's west side.

Police say that four victims were standing near the street on the above mentioned block when an unknown vehicle approached the group. Someone inside that unknown vehicle fired shots.

The victims and their injuries are listed as follows:

  • Male, 11 – struck to the thigh and transported to Stroger Hospital initially reported in serious condition.
  • Female, 31 – struck to the arm and transported to Rush Hospital initially reported in serious condition.
  • Male, 33 – struck to the back and transported to Stroger Hospital initially reported in serious condition.
  • Male, 48 – struck to the back and was transported to Stroger Hospital initially reported in serious condition.

There is no one in custody. Area Three detectives are investigating.
