The 3-year-old victim was reportedly shot in the right side of his face but was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.

3-year-old wounded in drive-by shooting on city's West Side

CHICAGO - A 3-year-old boy was shot this morning while riding in a car on the city's west side, officials said.



The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. in the 4500 block of W. Congress Parkway in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the city's west side.

Police said a 36-year-old female and a 3-year-old male were inside a vehicle when an unknown offender in a white SUV pulled alongside the victims and began firing shots in their direction.

The 3-year-old victim was reportedly shot in the right side of his face but was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition. The 36-year-old woman was not injured.

No one is in custody. Area 4 Detectives are investigating.
