CHICAGO - A 22-year-old woman was shot and killed during an argument with a man on the city's south side late Tuesday night.

The incident reportedly happened just after 11:00 p.m. on the 5900 block of S. Bishop in the Englewood neighborhood on the city's south side.

Police said a 22-year-old woman was in an argument with an as yet unidentified man. It was unclear the relationship between the young woman and the man, or what the argument began over, but the man pulled out a gun and shot the woman in the head. He then fled the scene on foot.

The 22-year-old victim was taken to University of Chicago Hospital where she was initially listed in critical condition, but she later died from her injuries.

We do know the name of the victim but she has not been officially identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, so we're waiting until notification of the family is complete.

One shell casing was found at the scene. Area One detectives are investigating.
