18-year-old girl carjacked in Lincoln Park

CHICAGO - An 18-year-old girl was sitting in her vehicle in Lincoln Park Friday evening when authorities say she was carjacked.



The incident happened around 8:00 p.m. Friday night in the 1900 block of N. Orchard Street in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Police said an 18-year-old female victim was sitting in her gray Lexus RX350 when an unidentified male offender opened the front passenger door and got in the car. The offender told the girl to get out and leave the key fob.

The victim complied and the offender fled in the Lexus.

NOTE: Initial reports mentioned there were two male offenders but police only mentioned one offender. We'll continue to update if there's a change in the information.

There were no injuries and there is no one in custody.

Area Three detectives are investigating.
