An 18-year-old male victim got into an argument in the backyard area of some residences in Albany Park and the as-yet-unknown offender allegedly pulled a gun and shot him.

18-year-old dies after Albany Park backyard shooting

ALBANY PARK, Chicago - An 18-year-old was shot during an argument Friday night in the Albany Park neighborhood, authorities said, and later died from his injuries.

The shooting happened around 8:15 p.m. Friday night on the 4600 block of N. Lawndale Avenue in the Albany Park neighborhood on the city's northwest side.

Police said an 18-year-old male victim and an unknown person got into an argument in the backyard area of the residences on the above block when the offender pulled a gun and shot the 18-year-old.

The victim was reportedly taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital with one gunshot wound to his back and abdomen, where he was pronounced dead.

No one is in custody and Area Five Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.
