15-year-old shot and killed in north side Warren Park

A teenager was shot and killed in Warren Park this afternoon on the city's northwest side, authorities said.

Update: Hours later, a second 15-year-old male was walking down the sidewalk when he was shot in the leg on the 2500 block of W. Thorndale, a couple blocks south of the location where the 15-year-old was shot and killed in Warren Park. The second teen victim is in good condition but authorities are not yet certain if the two shootings are related.

CHICAGO - A teenager was shot and killed in Warren Park this afternoon on the city's north side, authorities said.

The incident happened around 1:51 p.m. in the 6600 block of N. Western Avenue in Warren Park in the West Ridge neighborhood on the city's north side.

Police said a 15-year-old boy was sitting in the park when an unknown offender approached, pulled out a pistol, and fired shots.

The teen was shot in the right shoulder and taken to St. Francis Hospital but he was pronounced dead.
