Police said an unknown man approached a group outside a party in the Austin neighborhood late last night and opened fire.

15-year-old girl, 44-year-old man killed in Austin triple shooting

AUSTIN, Chicago - A group of people were standing out on the sidewalk at a party in the Austin neighborhood last night when someone approached on foot and began shooting. Two were killed among three shot, including a 15-year-old girl.

The incident happened around 11:40 p.m. last night on the 5800 block of W. Augusta Boulevard in the Austin neighborhood.

Police said several people were standing out on the sidewalk at a party on the above block when a man walked up on foot and fired into the group. Three people were struck, two of whom later died.

The victims and their injuries are as follows:

  • 15-year-old female. Gunshot wound to the head. Transported to Stroger Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
  • 44-year-old male. Gunshot wound to the chest. Transported to Stroger Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
  • 39-year-old male. Gunshot wound to the left leg. He was able to self-transport to West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park where he is listed in critical condition.

There is no one in custody. Area Four detectives are investigating.
