CHICAGO - Another teenager was shot on the city's far south side last night, authorities said.

The incident happened just before 8:30 p.m. on the 10500 block of S. Yates in the South Deering neighborhood on the city's far south side.

Police said a 14-year-old boy was on the street on the above block when an unknown vehicle pulled up and an unknown person fired shots at the teen. He was originally reported to have been shot in the head and in serious condition but it turns out the victim suffered a graze wound to the head and is expected to be okay.

Still, he was taken to Comer Children's Hospital. Area Two Detectives are investigating.

While we have no affiliation, all crime stats used by the Chicago Journal can be found at HeyJackass.com, and they've recorded 260 kids 17 and under who've been shot through September 1, 2022. Of those 260 victims, 42 have been killed.
