14-year-old in critical condition after drive-by shooting in Burnside

A 14-year-old was shot at by an unidentified male in a drive-by. The teenager suffered one gunshot wound to the groin and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where they're listed in critical condition tonight.

14-year-old in critical condition after drive-by shooting in Burnside

CHICAGO - Another teenager is in critical condition this evening after they were shot in a drive-by shooting in the Burnside neighborhood tonight, authorities said.

Police originally reported this incident happened around 8:38 p.m. in the 9400 block of S. University Avenue in the Burnside neighborhood on the city's south side. However, we believe it happened just down the street in the Burnside Park area, but we have not been able to confirm that with police just yet and we'll make certain to update or edit with the definitive location as the story progresses.

A 14-year-old male was standing outside when he was shot at by an unidentified male offender driving-by in a vehicle.

The teenager suffered one gunshot wound to the groin and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where he is listed in critical condition tonight.

According to police, the victim was unable to provide further details.

There is no one in custody. Area Two detectives are investigating.
