Authorities said a man was shot and killed and two other men were shot and critically wounded while changing a tire in front of a gas station in Garfield Park this morning.

The Citgo gas station at the intersection of Harrison and Homan in the Garfield Park neighborhood was the scene of a gruesome shooting that killed one and critically wounded two more while they changed a tire.

CHICAGO - Authorities said a man was shot and killed and two other men were shot and critically wounded while changing a tire in front of a gas station in Garfield Park this morning.

The incident happened around 3:19 a.m. this morning in the 3300 block of W. Harrison Street in the Garfield Park neighborhood on the city's west side.

Police said a group of men were changing a tire on the street in front of the Citgo gas station at the intersection of Harrison and Homan when a dark SUV drove up and unknown male exited the vehicle. The as-yet-unknown man fired multiple shots at the victims and fled northbound on Homan.

The victims and their conditions are as follows:

  • Victim #1: 30-year-old male shot in the face. Pronounced dead on scene.
  • Victim #2: Unknown age shot seven (7) times to the body. Critical condition.
  • Victim #3: Unknown age with unknown gunshot wounds to the legs, arms, and body. Critical condition.

Both of the victims who are critical were taken to nearby Mount Sinai.

No one is in custody. Area Four detectives are investigating.
