Authorities reported two men were shot and killed in two separate shooting incidents Monday morning. The locations of the shootings are approximately two miles apart and occurred twenty minutes from each other.

Officers were called to investigate a disturbance of a man with a gun and, when they arrived, they indeed found a man with a gun. Police said the man pointed one of the pistols at the officers and officers opened fire.

The loss for Chicago negated another strong start for Michael Kopech. Chicago’s 25-year-old right-hander tossed five scoreless innings and struck out seven. Kopech has allowed just one earned run in three starts this year.

Crime
Police reported that a 68-year-old woman was shot this afternoon while she was walking in the Albany Park neighborhood. Another vehicle was also struck by gunfire but the occupants inside the vehicle were not hit.
Cubs
The Cubs (6-7) have now dropped five of seven games to dip below .500 after a series loss to Tampa Bay earlier in the week.
