Arrieta, a fifth-round pick by the Orioles in the 2007 amateur draft, was a dominant force in 2015, going 22-6 with a sparkling 1.77 ERA in 33 starts. He followed his Cy Young campaign with 18 wins and a 3.10 ERA in 31 starts in 2016.

Nikola Vucevic had 24 points and 17 rebounds for the Bulls, making their first playoff appearance in five years. LaVine had 18 points and 10 rebounds. DeMar DeRozan had 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Suzuki homers to extend hot start, Cubs beat Rockies 6-4

Suzuki is batting .400 and has hit safely in eight straight games with an at-bat. The 27-year-old outfielder from Japan has reached base in all nine games with the Cubs.

Arozarena leads Rays past White Sox 9-3 to stop 4-game slide

The Rays sent 10 batters to the plate in the first and a took a 4-0 lead on three soft singles, three walks and an error by Velasquez (0-1). The right-hander threw 20 of 35 pitches for strikes in the inning, then settled down to go 4 2/3 innings.

Cron homers twice to back Senzatela as Rockies beat Cubs 9-6

The Cubs got on the board first thanks to Villar’s third-inning RBI single. They have held a lead in each of their first eight games, though they dropped to 4-4. The 1938 Cubs hold the team record for most consecutive games with a lead to start the season with 19.

Michael Kopech threw five solid innings and Abreu homered for the first time this season. The White Sox have won six of seven and are off to a 6-2 start for the first time since 2016 despite several key injuries.

Burger homers, Cease deals for White Sox in 3-2 vs Rays

The 26-year-old Burger was a first-round pick in 2017 but didn't play at all between 2018-20 due to injuries — including tearing his left Achilles tendon twice — and the pandemic. He now has a pair of two-hit games in five appearances this season.

Blackhawks beat Sharks 5-4 in SO to send longtime broadcaster Pat Foley off the air with a win

Pat Foley, Blackhawks play-by-play broadcaster for 39 seasons, called his final game Thursday. A member of the Hockey Hall of Fame and a Glenview native, Foley worked the telecast alongside analyst Ed Olczyk, his broadcast partner since 2008.

Suzuki extends hit streak to 6, Cubs down Bryant and Rockies 5-2

Suzuki extended his hitting streak to six games since joining the majors from Japan and drove in his 10th run when the Cubs collected five straight hits against Kyle Freeland (0-2).
