D2 Realty may build a parking lot atop the land the company owns at the southwest corner of Harrison and Wells. The firm has filed to obtain a special-use permit from the Zoning Board of Appeals for a 218-space lot, according to the ZBA's June agenda.

Costco, med district ink lease

Retailer enters due diligence period

Costco has agreed to lease an empty 16-acre parcel in the Illinois Medical District for its second store in Chicago. Mark Jamil, counsel for the medical district, said the company inked the agreement on May 25. The site is bounded by 15th, Hastings, Ashland and the Chicago Transit Authority’s Pink Line.

McNeil earns Fulbright, will travel to Indonesia to teach and learn

Brett McNeil is hoping to play hockey in Indonesia. But he might have to settle for badminton. The former journalist, corporate investigator and hockey nut was just awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship. In August he leaves for a 10-month stint teaching history in Indonesia.
