Henery is an energetic 2-year-old Blue Heeler mix who absolutely loves people and is also great with other dogs! In late October, Henery was transferred to PAWS Chicago after he was left at Animal Care & Control as an unclaimed stray.

As Chicago’s aldermen work to slice and dice the city’s wards, Lincoln Park residents came out in force last night to oppose changes that would cram another city councilman into their turf. DePaul University’s Student Center was packed yesterday evening as residents came out to express their concerns at 2012’s first Chicago ward remap public hearing, including moving the 2nd Ward from the West and South Loop to Lincoln Park.

Things didn't go quite as planned at a Chicago Public Schools community hearing last Friday. The idea was to hold a community input session at Malcolm X College on the Near West Side on the proposed closing of Richard T. Crane High School. Following a PowerPoint presentation, community residents would speak one at a time for two minutes each and no more.

As 2011 came to a close, West Loop came out as one of the clearest winners in Chicago's restaurant scene. In a poll of the city's food writers on the blog Eater Chicago, 10 of 17 declared the West Loop the city's best dining neighborhood.
