An advisory group for the dog-friendly area that will soon be built out in the northwestern corner of Skinner Park is in formation, according to Ald. Robert Fioretti’s office. E-mail dfaskinner@gmail.com for details.
Fioretti, meanwhile, has scheduled two meetings this June. The first will take place at 6:30 p.m. on June 15 and deal with parking in the South Loop. Representatives from the Department of Transportation and a consulting firm that carried out a neighborhood parking study will be on hand. The meeting takes place at Columbia College’s facility at 1104 S. Wabash, on the 8th Floor.
On June 24, Fioretti will fold his West Loop town hall meeting into a session with representatives from Target and the company’s legal counsel. The Minnesota-based firm is eyeing building a new store at the old Fannie May site, a vacant parcel bounded by Jackson, Van Buren, Aberdeen and the Hubbard Street Dance headquarters.
The combined town hall and Target meeting is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at the Merit School of Music, 38 S. Peoria.
