A man dropped his pants in front of three employees at Jamba Juice, 166 N. State St., at 2 p.m. Friday, June 29. The man, who was standing on the sidewalk just outside the entrance to the store, then came into the store and made crude remarks, police said, before fleeing.

The man was described as five-foot-two, 140 pounds, between the age of 25 and 30, with tape wrapped around his calf, wearing big frame glasses, an American flag t-shirt and a blue knit cap.

The Dunkin Donuts store at 1231 S. Wabash Ave. was robbed by a man holding a black plastic bag in his left hand and a small handgun in his right hand at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 27.

The man called the clerk, a 21-year-old woman, by her first name and apologized, saying “I’m sorry to do this but put the money in the bag.’’ The clerk told police she had seen the man around the store before and thought he was joking. So she started talking about the weather in an attempt to distract him, police said, and when a customer entered the store he fled without taking any money.

Police arrested a man who they said robbed the Crocs store at 123 S. State St. at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 28.

Police said the man entered the store and began removing shoes from a display before placing them in a duffel bag. When a 22-year-old store clerk approached him and asked if he planned to pay for the shoes, he displayed a knife and threatened the woman and told her to come outside before fleeing.

Police issued a flash message when they were called about the robbery and police apprehended Michael Greer, 57, of the 4400 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue at 22 E. Roosevelt Ave. and charged him with armed robbery.

A 50-year-old Chicago man was charged with deceptive practice for unauthorized videotaping after allegedly photographing a woman with his cell phone after she bent over at the Harold Washington Library, 400 S. State St., at 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 29.

The 28-year-old Chicago woman called library security after she observed him, police said, taking inappropriate photos of her when she bent down to pick up a library book. Police said they found photos on the man’s cell phone that allegedly matched clothing the woman was wearing that day.

A 38-year-old Chicago man was riding the Red Line at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 1 when a man engaged him in a verbal altercation on a train traveling in the 300 block of South State Street.

As the argument ensued, the man began to go through the victim’s pockets and started manhandling him, according to police. When the victim tried to prevent the man from robbing him, police said, he was overpowered. The victim was not injured but the offender took his credit cards.

A 21-year-old Chicago woman was wounded by a box-cutter after a confrontation with people in another car at 4 a.m. Wednesday, June 27.

The woman told police the car she was riding in was cut off by a black Ford Taurus containing two men and four women and a man got out of the passenger side of the car and reached in and cut her arm with a box-cutter. Then a woman followed him to the car and struck her in the face with her fist.

The woman told police the offenders accused her of following their car. She took herself to Mercy Hospital, police said, where she was treated and was reported in good condition.
