The Madison-Western Chamber of Commerce has been resurrected, to "promote, unite and coordinate efforts to revitalize and improve the business community in order to achieve comprehensive development and enhance the economic life of concerned business people and community professionals in the area," in the words of a post at the Near West Side Community Development Corporation Web site. A valet was parking a vehicle near 500 S. Lake Shore Dr. June 28 at 6:10 p.m. when he saw an unauthorized man enter his valet booth. The offender removed keys for the valet’s personal vehicle, a black Oldsmobile Alero, found the car in the nearby parking lot and drove off in the car. Read more...
