A garden that makes paper
right here in our own South Loop

Columbia College Chicago doesn't miss a trick.
I just noticed that they have taken a gravel-covered parking lot piece of their prime land on Wabash, just north of 8th Street--the old Buddy Guy's land that is supposed to become a student center at some point--and filled it with big pots and flower beds. Plants that have suitable fibers used for making paper are going to start growing for use in Columbia's paper making program at 11th and Wabash in the Ludington Building.
It's good for the environment to be growing these types of plants, too. And the paper making students won't have to order the fibers--they can just harvest them a few blocks away in the Papermaker's Garden.
