Behind a barrier
what it's like behind a wooden police line

The police left a wooden police horse in front of my house over the weekend and it's still there. They put it out for the LATE Ride Saturday night when they closed down the street for the all night bikers who rode south on State from Roosevelt--and it's been there ever since.
I've always been the type who can't stand loiterers in front of my house. I hate people touching my fence and my foliage. So I must say, this police line suits me just fine. I don't like conversations, rumpling of my foliage, music, smoking or dogs relieving themselves in front of my house. So a left-behind police line is a godsend for me.
I always try to overgrow my front yard tree to keep people away from my house--but I know the neighbors don't like that. I wish they could understand how I hate passersby intruding on the outskirts of my curtilage.
My worry now is that my heaven-sent protection will be discovered and the police will take same away. But maybe I will luck out and the police will decide to store it at my house indefinitely--making me look like a police-protected big shot all summer--and maybe longer. Maybe forever.
