Vote in LSC elections

On April 21, local school council elections will take place at our city’s elementary schools and on April 22 at our high schools. LSC elections typically have an extremely low turnout. LSCs, however, spend taxpayer dollars and how wisely they spend those dollars will have a direct impact on every resident’s pocketbook.

I said it before too: no increase in taxes (“Said it before, March 11). I have been struggling to find steady employment since late 2007. I’ve been fortunate to find contract positions and freelance work, but it’s been a struggle.

Council's education responsibility

Alderman Dowell’s editorial (“Stay vigilant on schools,” March 4) is at best disingenuous and, at worst, politically self serving. Her comments are nothing more than “a slight of hand trick” to fool her constituents into believing that she is representing and advocating their best interest.
