I read an article in the Aug. 12 edition of the Chicago Journal, which featured me and Kathy Lusher. It was a good article and thank you for bring this to the public attention. However, the statement “On Monday, three shuttles left the medical center between 4 and 4:30 p.m. Each held less than four riders bound for the train station.” is misleading. The hospital is the FIRST of seven stops. The bus you show in the picture had eighteen people total when it arrived at the first train station.

Since then, we have conducted our own count, and most buses have 15 or more riders. Also, please note, this was started during the summer, when students and academics are not present, and ridership is lower due to vacations.

Three years ago the bus schedule was changed with only two buses. The new schedule is very inconvenient and out of sync with the train schedules and did not allow enough time to get to the train station. People have commented on, and feel that was done to deter people from riding the bus.
