In response to the recent article by columnist AmySue Mertens regarding the effort by CDOT to repave and update many of the streets in the West Loop neighborhood, I would like to clarify to our community where the funds came from.
According to Alderman Fioretti at the recent West Loop town hall held on 7/14 at the Merit School of Music, funding was “secured from the City”, and not the State, for the following streets:
- Morgan, from Madison to Monroe
- Green, from Van Buren through the dead end
- Sangamon, from Madison to Monroe
- Aberdeen, from Monroe to Tilden
- Peoria, from Adams to Monroe
- Peoria, from Madison to Monroe
- Aberdeen, from Madison to Monroe
- Jackson, from Ashland to Peoria
- Loomis, from Adams to Van Buren
- Van Buren, from Loomis to Laflin
- Van Buren, from Racine to Peoria
- Monroe, from Ashland to Sangamon
- Monroe, from Peoria to Racine
This repaving effort will further beautify our area, and I thank Alderman Fioretti for fighting to get this work done in our current economic climate.
