Shovel those walks, or else

Having been in Brooklyn and Manhattan during the great Boxing Day dump of 2010, I saw two major differences between NYC and Chicago. First, Chicago plows better and sooner despite NYC sanitation trucks morphing into snow plows at the fall of a flurry.
On the other hand, New Yorkers shovel their sidewalks better and within hours thanks to a little thing — the threat and actuality of being ticketed if they do not.
Bonnie McGrath is right. Until Chicago uses bite of law, and shovels city lots too...we are still the second city when it comes to taking care of each other by shoveling our sidewalks.
