Put South Loop market on Saturday

We get what the Chicago Park District is trying to do by putting the new Grant Park farmers market on a Friday. Tapping into the workforce in town for the weekend is a fine idea, and folks may enjoy heading over to pick up a loaf of bread or some fruit.
But we have one big problem with that plan: It hurts the people who actually live in the neighborhood.
South Loop folks who work during the day may not have a chance to really enjoy the market, strolling from booth to booth to examine the goods.
We think a farmers market in the South Loop should serve those who live there, and those who work in the neighborhood should be a secondary concern. Put it on a weekend — or at least put it in the evening — so that residents can take advantage of it.
