The man whose body was found in a trash can in a Little Italy alley last week was a local man with deep ties to the neighborhood - and a long criminal history. Garbage scavenger came across corpse Monday morning

A dead man's body was found in a garbage can in Little Italy on Monday morning, according to the Chicago Police Department. The body was found by a scavenger rummaging through garbage cans in the alley behind the 1400 block of West Flournoy Street around 9:30 a.m., police said.

Police apprehended two suspects who allegedly pulled out a knife to steal a woman's purse at the 100 S. Columbus Dr. parking lot the afternoon of Aug. 22. One of the offenders, a 16-year-old, was charged with aggravated assault after he subsequently waved a knife at police.

A woman said that as many as 15 different offenders attacked her outside the Shrine Club, 2109 S. Wabash Ave., on August 13 around 2 a.m. The victim was inside the club when an unknown woman bumped into her, causing her drink to spill on another unknown woman.
