A man was making a phone call in the 1100 block of W. Taylor May 26 at 11:37 a.m. when another man came up from behind and struck him on the side of the face, causing swelling and bruising. The victim fell to the ground, and three men began kicking him.

Man attacks police officers

Police officers responded to a call of a fellow officer under duress in the 1900 block of S. Michigan May 20 at 10:10 p.m. When they arrived, the offender lunged at the officers and tried to punch them. One of the officers knocked the offender to the ground and attempted to handcuff him.

A woman was walking north on the 100 block of N. Franklin April 24 at 9:40 p.m. when a man grabbed her by the arm and two others surrounded her. The first man pulled out a gun and said, “Give me your money.” The victim handed over $7.

An employee was opening up the sandwich shop he worked at in the 100 block of N. Wells on April 17 at 8:50 a.m. when a man knocked on the front door and displayed what looked like a City of Chicago picture identification card.

Stalker had gun near school

A woman told police that a man who had been stalking her came to her place of employment, a school near 2100 S. State, April 7 at 12:40 p.m. and wrote a derogatory note about her, leaving it on a classroom door. The woman called police and told them the man had told her he had a gun and he was going to come over to the school and shoot her and the kids.
