Woman robbed at gunpoint on train

A woman was riding a CTA train near the 100 block of S. State September 9 at 7:45 p.m. when two men sat down next to her. One of the men stuck something against her side and said “I have a gun. Now give me your purse.” The woman complied and both men exited the train at the next stop. Police did not locate the offenders.
Man robs convenience store at gunpoint
A man entered a convenience store on the 100 block of N. Wells August 30 at 2:05 a.m. and purchased a bottle of water. The man then returned a few minutes later, displayed a silver handgun and said, “Give me the money.” The clerk pressed the store’s panic button, and the offender fled east on Washington and north on LaSalle. Police arrived, toured the area, but did not locate the offender.
Man attacks with box cutters
An employee for a hotel located on the 100 block of E. Wacker Drive was attempting to escort loiterers away from the hotel entrance September 8 at 1:18 p.m. when one of the loiterers pulled out a box cutter. The offender then pushed the employee’s arm and both men ran off in an unknown direction. The employee was not hurt.
Bad bus rider busted
A man was riding a CTA bus on the 500 block of W. Roosevelt September 9 at 5:35 p.m. while yelling at other bus riders. He also attempted to start fights with other passengers. The bus driver stopped the bus and flagged down a police officer on routine patrol nearby. The officer arrested the unruly man and charged him with reckless conduct in public.
Man starts fight over ladies room
A man attempted to use a women’s toilet at a restaurant located on the 100 block of W. Randolph September 10 at 10 a.m. because the men’s room was occupied. An employee for the restaurant notified the man he would have to wait for the men’s room. The man started screaming at the restaurant employee. The employee asked the man to leave. No threats were made, but the employee wanted to report the event to police, because he felt the offender almost attacked him physically during their altercation, and he feared he might receive a battery later.
Panhandler busted for drugs
A man was standing in the road near the 600 block of W. Roosevelt September 12 at 9:25 p.m. panhandling and asking people for money. Police arrested the man and during a custodial search they found a plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance suspected as cannabis. Police transported the man to the first district police station for processing.
Man borrows, then steals cell phone
A man was walking on the 200 block of S. State September 7 at 11:15 p.m. when another man approached and asked to use his cell phone. The man gave the other man his phone. The man used the phone for ten minutes. When the owner asked for his phone back, the guy talking on it punched him in the face and then fled with the phone. Police toured the area, but were not able to locate the offender.
Bike ripped off
A woman locked her bike to a stand located on the 100 block of E. Randolph September 12 at 11:55 p.m. with a steel u-lock and cable and then walked across the street. A few minutes later a man approached her and said he saw someone take the bike. The woman checked on her bike and found someone had cut the lock.
