Chicago police officers arrested a South Loop man at his home in the 1500 block of S. State on March 10, taking around 640 grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia from the residence.
Michael Wright, 50, has been charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance.
According to a news release, Wright was a member of a gang called the Gangster Black Souls.
The police department’s Gang Enforcement Unit executed a warrant for Wright’s arrest. He was taken into custody without incident and appeared at a bond hearing on March 11 at the criminal courthouse at 26th and California.
The cocaine seized has a street value of more than $80,000. Police also recovered $5,000 in cash.
