Obscene crime scene

A woman reported to police that when she returned home to her residence in the 700 block of W. Jackson March 8 at 9:30 a.m. she found that someone had placed a picture of a couple having sexual intercourse on her front door. Police told her to notify them if the victim saw any more suspicious activity.
Data heist
An employee for a bank located in the 100 block of W. Madison said that on March 8 at 4:39 p.m. a courier on his way out of the bank took a digital back-up hard drive that contained personal banking information. The man was caught on surveillance camera, and the footage was turned over to police.
Family fracas
A woman told police that at a birthday party for her sister-in-law that she attended, everyone was drinking. At some point the woman, her sister-in-law and brother started to get into a car near the 100 block of N. Clark March 7 at 10:35 a.m. The woman decided not to get in the car and then she hit the sister-in-law. Her brother then punched his sister in the eye. She told police this would not have happened if they were not so drunk. The woman did not want to press charges, but wanted the incident documented.
Donut bakery gets rolled
A man was performing a routine donut delivery when he discovered broken glass at a donut bakery located in the 100 block of E. Lake March 7 at 12:50 a.m. He called police who arrived and discovered three cash registers pried open with metal spoons and $1,200 missing. The store was equipped with a security camera, but the camera did not capture activity during closing hours.
Purse snatching on State
A woman was walking in the 200 block of S. State March 6 at 7:05 p.m. when a man ran up to her, snatched her purse from her shoulder and fled. The woman’s purse contained a cell phone and miscellaneous credit cards, but no cash. Police did not locate the offenders.
No security for security agent
A security agent for an apartment building located on the 100 block of S. Michigan left her post for a few minutes March 6 at 1:46 p.m. When she returned she found someone had taken a tote bag from under her desk containing miscellaneous reading materials and assorted pieces of jewelry. The woman reviewed security footage and saw an unknown person take the bag and walk out the building.
Turnstile jumpers busted
Police on special detail saw three men jump a CTA turnstile in the 100 block of N. State March 5 at 9:05 p.m. Police approached the men and apprehended them. They were transported to the 1st District police station where they were charged with attempted theft of services.
Hand in the till
A manager for a restaurant located in the 500 block of S. State discovered an employee stealing $250 from a cash register during his shift on March 3. Police arrived, arrested the employee and charged him with theft.
Man pees on building, gets busted for drugs
A man was observed urinating on the side of building located on the 1000 block of S. Desplaines March 6 at 9:50 p.m. Police approached the man and conducted a field interview. The offender could not provide the officers with a valid piece of identification, so they took him into custody. They performed a search and discovered a small clear knotted plastic bag containing a crushed green leafy substance suspected as cannabis. The man was arrested and charged with urinating in the public way and for possible drug possession.
Printers Row squatters
A man who lives on the 100 block of E. 8th St. called police about homeless individuals who were refusing to leave his property March 8 at 8:10 a.m. The owner told police that he’d been having a problem with the homeless men making a mess and was tired of cleaning up after them. Police arrived and told the men to vacate the premises, but they refused. The men were arrested and charged with criminal trespassing.
