Strong-arm incidents linked

Victims were approached from behind by two teenagers

Police are asking Near West Side residents to take precaution, following a string of strong-arm robberies this month.

Officers are tying three incidents together. In each case, two male teenagers – described as between 15- to 19-years-old, black, 5’4” and 5’8” and no more than 150 pounds – approached victims from behind.

The offenders then attacked the victims and knocked them to the ground, taking various money and property from.

The first occurred on Jan. 9, in the 1000 block of W. 14th Place, followed by a Jan. 10 incident in the 800 block of W. Maxwell. Two days later, the offenders struck again, this time in the 1400 block of S. Peoria.
