A woman reported to police that when she returned home to her residence in the 700 block of W. Jackson March 8 at 9:30 a.m. she found that someone had placed a picture of a couple having sexual intercourse on her front door. Police told her to notify them if the victim saw any more suspicious activity.

Dog-napping

On Feb 21 at 4:05 p.m. a woman left a sliding door unlocked and her dog inside her residence, located in the 2300 block of W. 21st St., to go meet with a man about buying some puppies. The man told her he had to go get the puppies and then hed return.

Burglar caught under truck

A series of burglaries have occurred at a parking garage located in the 600 block of S. Clark over the last few weeks, so police were assigned to patrol the garage Feb. 20. Around 11 a.m., officers noticed a blue and silver SUV with no license plates entering the garage.

A man returned to his home in the 1100 block of W. Cullerton Feb. 8 at 3:20 p.m. and discovered that someone had forcibly entered it through a window and removed an air compressor and a saw valued at $700.

A man exited the elevator in his residential building located in the 800 block of S. Wells Jan. 19 at 6:45 a.m. and heard the door to his apartment slam. He ran down the hall past his apartment into a nearby stairwell and saw a man fleeing down the stairs.

Burglars take big haul

A couple went to a party and then returned to their home in the 1300 block of W. Washburne a few hours later at 7 p.m. on Jan. 14 and found the front door unlocked. When they walked in, two men brandished guns and told them to get on the floor face down and not to look up.

Victims were approached from behind by two teenagers

Police are asking Near West Side residents to take precaution, following a string of strong-arm robberies this month. Officers are tying three incidents together. In each case, two male teenagers described as between 15- to 19-years-old, black, 54 and 58 and no more than 150 pounds approached victims from behind.

Man choked and robbed

A man was walking near the 2300 block of S. State Jan. 3 at 7:37 p.m. when three men approached him. One of the men put him in a chokehold while another took the mans wallet from his pants.
