Express bus to run from West Loop to Navy Pier

Part of Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s new tax on downtown parkers is slated to finance a new express bus, with dedicated lanes, that would run from the West Loop to Navy Pier through downtown.
The new plan would call for a bus station just south of Union Station in the West Loop at the intersection of Jackson Boulevard and Canal Street, zig-zagging through the Loop and Streeterville to get to the Pier.
The new bus terminal in the West Loop would just be a large awning — likely not walled off from the street.
“It helps in two ways — it takes buses off the main traffic lanes for loading and unloading, preventing backups, and it provides convenience to passengers by being easily identifiable.”
