This week Chicago Journal debuts Art Department, a new column by Chicago editor and writer Daniel Tucker.
We’ve charged Tucker with taking a critical look at West Loop, South Loop and Near West Side art galleries, museums and exhibitions, and telling us about the artists and projects they showcase. Got a suggestion? E-mail mm@chicagojournal.com.
With the West Loop home to dozens of the city’s fine art galleries, and cultural institutions big and small scattered across Chicago Journal’s coverage area, we think this column will provide readers with a fascinating glimpse of the art worlds in their neighborhoods.
Tucker is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute. Among many, many other projects, he founded and edits AREA Magazine and contributes to the Belgian art publication (H)Art.
