The real estate firm that put up the Roosevelt Collection project and the Chicago Park District are negotiating over the contours of a new park in the South Loop, representatives from both organizations have confirmed.

Firms sought for hospital remake
Price tag: $126 million, but funding isn’t in place

On July 13, county government, through its office of capital planning and policy, released a request for proposals seeking a firm to shepherd an anticipated $126 million remake of the historic old Cook County hospital building at 1835 W. Harrison. The hospital, the RFP notes, is “listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the [redevelopment] will be designed and constructed in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.” Read More...

Adams St. on the Near West Side, was hired to provide the food for the international musicians who played this summer’s soon-to-end-for-the-season Music Without Borders series at Millennium Park.

A tax increment financing district created to support redevelopment of the ABLA Homes, several interconnected public housing developments located in the blocks between Morgan and Ashland and either side of Roosevelt Road, will result in $87 million in potential spending over a 35-year lifetime, a draft amendment to the district’s plan shows.
