The Near West Side Community Development Corporation is seeking 15 neighborhood residents aged 14-16 to help Chicago muralist Damon Lamar Reed restore the mural on the south side of Victor Herbert Elementary School, according to the group’s Web site.
Participating students will get a stipend for attending the four-day-a-week, four-hour-per-day restoration project, which starts June 29 and stretch over six weeks. Interested students should contact Near West’s Paulette Boyd 312-738-2280.
