Bleeding Heart Bakery, the innovative organic cupcake joint that got its start on West Chicago Avenue before moving to Belmont, and later, Oak Park, is coming back to its roots.
They’re planning to open a new location in spring 2011 at Chicago Avenue and Winchester Avenue with a glassed-in kitchen, classes and live webcasted demos, made-to-order donuts and a move beyond dessert with diner-style food.
They’re also hoping to add a rooftop garden and shoot for gluten-free and peanut-free pastry production certification.
Construction is underway on the new 125-seat eatery.
