The spirit of community is being cultivated in the West Loop this holiday season. The 2nd Ward is partnering with the West Loop Community Organization (WLCO) on a holiday “adopt-a-family” program and is reaching out to the community for help.
Second Ward Alderman Bob Fioretti’s office and WLCO worked with local pastors and community organizations to identify families in need who live within the 2nd Ward. Local residents and businesses are encouraged to "adopt-a-family" or donate something to the effort. According to the Alderman, many of the requests are simple such as toys, household items, and winter clothes.
If you choose to adopt a family, you’ll get more information about the family when you sign up. The goal is to give each family their presents during the week of December 19. If you would like to participate, or know of a family in need, you can contact Beth O'Mara at Alderman Fioretti’s office at (312) 263-9273 or beth.o'mara@cityofchicago.org.
