Let’s say you just got a new laptop but your old one (or PC, if you still have a desktop model) still works fine. What do you do with it? Or, you finally broke down and bought a flat screen HD TV set, so now you have a perfectly good non-HD model that’s taking up space.
There’s a great option to donate consumer electronics, and many other items, and help out West Loop charitable organizations in the process. Zealous Good does all the hard work—picking up your items and delivering them to a charity you choose.
Think of Zealous Good as a matchmaker to get the best re-use out of your gently-used maternity clothes and linens. If you have office furniture in good condition, that's welcome, too.
“The items on our ‘most needed’ list are office supplies, computers, household items, cameras and toiletries,” said Colleen Froehlich of Zealous Good.
To donate, there are just a few simple steps. First, tell Zealous Good what you have to offer by filling out a form online here - javascript:nicTemp();
Zealous Good will reach out to charities that have expressed an interest in the type of goods you want to donate. You can choose one of those charities from an online tool, and schedule a pick-up or drop off. You’ll receive an email when a charity requests your item.
The West Loop charities that have recently benefited from Zealous Good donations are Family Focus, Girls in the Game and H.O.M.E. Others in the immediate area include Guided Hands Foundation and Society of St. Vincent de Paul. You’re not limited to selecting one charity, though. Zealous Good offers their services to many worthy groups throughout the Chicago area.
