Trader Joe's coming and South Loop thankful

The sorry story is that Trader Joe's wasn't here for this Thanksgiving. But apparently they will be right out my door next Thanksgiving--in the old Sam's store in the old Trailways Bus Company at Wabash and Roosevelt. This huge empty store has been depressing to see lately. So when I saw this morning on another South Loop blog that a business license had really been issued yesterday for Trader Joe's at 1147 S. Wabash, I knew happy days were definitely coming to the neighborhood.
Another thing to be thankful for today: here's a nice clip from WCIU-TV that centers on the culture, the landmarks, the art and the fun in the South Loop.
Have a happy Thanksgiving!

Huzzah for Trader Joe's! Great location with Jewel right across the street.

Excellent for you B. Trader Joe's has all those samples; free coffee; myriad shickers buying dozens of cheap-wine bottles all day long; chatty, eccentric cashiers, and good prices for Whole Foods-type stuff. I find it indispensable to good humor in the suburbs! Let's hope the coruscation extends to the South Loop...
