Tapas Valencia takes the turkey

Corn casserole: check. Homemade cranberries: check. Two pumpkin pies (one for us for the rest of the weekend for breakfast with coffee; one for my hostess today): check. I'm as busy in the kitchen the last few hours as I am the entire rest of the year. In fact, the smoke alarm went off 30 times so far. I had to open the back door, the kitchen window and the living room window for some good (criss) cross ventilation. But I digress.
Three short blocks down South State Street, there's a comfortable, upscale tapas restaurant called Tapas Valencia that has apparently filled the place with those who have no money and nowhere to go. They've been taking reservations recently from those in need of today's giveaway, and that's pretty darn nice. So I wanted to give them a turkey day shout out!
Note: Tapas Valencia has a good deal the rest of the year for those of us who can afford to dine there, but who want to pinch a few pennies during the current intransigently downturned economy. They have great specials every day during happy hour. Anyone for $2 tapas? And drink specials to match?
Thanks, TV.

Thanks for giving Tapas Valencia the shout-out. Volunteers at South Loop Community Church\'s food pantry were able to inform folks about this special event while they passed out bags of food last Saturday. Good job Tapas Valencia!
