Hole in the ground
and I got a picture through a hole in the curtain

I was actually a whole block beyond the hole when I just had to go back and peek through the hole on Wabash that captured my attention--and what did I see? A hole.
Remember when the neighborhood news was Trader Joe's is coming to Roosevelt and Wabash? Well, there hasn't been much action around there lately--and I was beginning to wonder if we all imagined the coming of Trader Joe's because we wanted it so bad. But when I went back to check on the hole in the canvas that was clinging to the chain link fence around the empty property--next to the building that Sam's moved out of and Trader Joe's is supposedly moving in to--there was a huge hole in the ground.
Apparently, it's the construction of a parking lot for Trader Joe's. But the way they have the construction site obscured by the heavy canvas, you'd think something sinister and top secret is going on. But as far as I can see, things look pretty wholesome.
I hope the next news concerning that area will be the arrival of food trucks to stock the TJ shelves.

heard they have to wait until potbelly's lease is up as TJs is taking the entire space. Lincoln Park TJ's employee told me opening in 2012
